Withstanding the whiners...
Ahhh its been a long road - but by no means a boring one so far. The game NOW compared to the game beta and just after release is hugely improved. The last patch (GU2?) absolutely put to bed CTD's for me.I've had one since but that was my fault anyway =) The majority of the bugs/performance issues have been fixed up. That was the most important contention for me and it wasn't bad enough for me to leave. But leave they did! In droves. A lot have come back to try again and there are new people as well. The server merges really motivated everyone to try again - I actually hated it the first two weeks. The only time I get laggy is when another player first approaches my char (this was actually really valuable as a long time DAOC player) - so the increased population killed me.
That and the friggin whining. Yes...everyone has a right to complain about real or perceived injustices, but I tell you MMORPG players abuse the priveledge. Either that or some people need a slap upside the head that says *if thats the BIGGEST worry of your life I envy you*.
Anyway, I will keep playing, and enjoying MY solo style. I will keep making little bits of money here and there (both Slappalore and Kissla are self supporting now) but I don't try too hard. I was lucky enough to get the Limestone Carving recipe for a batch and have a heap of rares/ur saved. So the plan is: Loverat hits 50 and moves into some Diplo, she also gets her last 15 levels crafting (!), Slappalore moves towards 50 - there are SO many quests 30-40 its a breeze. Necro when I feel like mining and petting. I am keen to get my crafting up so I can *build* my T5 house when I can finally do the quests =)
I have also finally worked out what a *newbie* package needs and have started to work on it.

...thats right there is a VG Diplomacy Wiki its part of VG Tact which is THE place to go for Diplomatic information =)

...there I was wandering around BD seeing if there was ANY NPC that wanted to give me another dip quest so I could get it to level 50 and therefore start my Civic Dip line and I thought * FFS! How the hell am I gonna remember what NPC is what level and presence* etc etc. when it struck me. Why not whip up a table of NPC information including name/level/presence/general area.
I have taken a screenshot of every one of them and will start making one up. Just not so sure on the format it will take - re-orderable (is that a word?) would be groovy - but I'm not very up with embedding that kind of crap in webpages. Nevermind I will figure it out =)

Sigh...
...And so! I had the collectors edition on order via my debit card (just like a credit card but I don't end up in debt like most of the a-holes ho-ho) My card has an end date of Mar-07. So when the order was to be shipped today (and I made SURE I had enough money in the account) it was rejected. Fine I thought, screw you - I'll run over to EB and buy it. They had no collectors edition so I just bought a normal one meh. But of course when I went to activate it, the card was once again rejected. I had to borrow my mums card as I was VERY keen to play tonight - I am dieing for lack of mmorpg-ness atm.
At last I was on (thank god I already had a station account from EQ2) I was on for about an hour then had to go do something....and here I am I have come back to find the fekkin servers are down. I might as well just stick a rusty fork in my eyes and stop pretending this day is going to be anything other than rooted =P

...I was lucky enough to finally get into Beta 3 so I had a good month or so of playing. The highest char I had was a bard. Suffice to say I love the game. But I have pre-ordered the Collectors Addition and here in Australia the game isn't distributed until Feb bloody 15 =P Oh well I waited this long I can use the two weeks to catch up on other stuff.
Eventually I will have some sort of help files like I did for EQ2 (newbie help and jewellery tables) Once I can't find what I need I am sure I will get some ideas. /p>
Have decided to play on Taragnor, hopefully a good mix of Aussies and Northern Hemispherers
